About The Situation

We were asked by an M&A specialist to work with a client of theirs, a well known insurance brand that was buying up a number of smaller specialist brands as part of their growth strategy.

One of these was a B2B insurance company that primarily won new business via the internet. We were tasked with investigating all elements of their digital presence and advising on any problem areas to be aware of, as well as opportunities for fast growth.

After we gained access to their Analytics, their advertising and social media accounts, we were able to perform a deep dive into each area and get a picture of how well the business was doing online across SEO, Pay Per Click advertising, Social Media campaigns and Email.

  • We looked at historic trends in traffic and customer acquisition to see if recent growth was likely to continue.
  • We also examined competitor activity to judge how much market share the B2B brand had versus rivals and whether that was growing or not.

The Result

The analysis gave our client the knowledge and data needed to continue with their acquisition of the brand. They were now aware of not only exactly how the business was performing in all areas of digital marketing, but also had the start of a roadmap for how they would further push the brand versus rivals. This gave them confidence that the investment decision would be a smart move.
